. El 24º Congreso FIPS fue organizado por Ski Patrol Suecia y se celebró sobre el Círculo Ártico en Riksgränsen, Suecia, del 21 al 30 de abril de 2024. Participaron quince países con un total de 146 participantes, incluidos 110 asistentes internacionales, ocho presentadores especializados y patrulleros suecos/locales de Riksgränsen. y organizadores de patrullas del congreso. Después de la bienvenida de la presidenta de la FIPS, Marie Norgren, y las presentaciones de los representantes de Riksgränsen, el domingo por la tarde se celebraron bebidas informales de bienvenida. El congreso comenzó formalmente el lunes por la mañana con la ceremonia de la bandera, un homenaje al estimado colaborador de FIPS desde 1983, Jan Sandegärd de Suecia, quien falleció recientemente y la tradicional foto grupal de FIPS. Lo más destacado del Congreso fueron los ocho ponentes especializados que ofrecieron excelentes conocimientos sobre las mejores prácticas mundiales en las áreas de la medicina relevantes para el patrullaje de esquí, la búsqueda y rescate de avalanchas y el adiestramiento de perros en caso de avalanchas. Para la mayoría, sus gastos de asistencia fueron financiados por una combinación del patrocinio de Ski Patrol Suecia y por FIPS utilizando algunos de los fondos de donación del Día Internacional de la Patrulla de Esquí de Helly Hansen. Hubo reuniones de varios grupos de interés especial a lo largo de la semana para planificar su progreso continuo en los próximos años e identificar temas de interés para el próximo congreso. Los delegados nacionales también asistieron a las reuniones de la Junta Directiva de FIPS, incluida la Asamblea General Bienal de FIPS, donde Marie Nordgren fue elegida presidenta para el próximo período de dos años.
