What is International Ski Patrol Day?

International Ski Patrol Day (ISPD) is an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the extraordinary ski patrollers who keep resorts open, safe and fun for people of all ages and skill levels.

As the brand trusted by professionals, and to show appreciation and raise funds for patrollers around the world, we invite you to join us in celebrating ISPD on February 10, 2025.

Helly Hansen and ISPD

Helly Hansen will continue to celebrate ISPD in 2025, rallying its resorts and patroller partners around the world to make some noise on the day – as a way to recognize the knowledge and commitment of the many ski patrollers who work hard to keep resorts open, safe and fun for people of all ages and skill levels.

Over time, ISPD has gained momentum! We encourage all resorts, snowsport, outdoor brands and patrol organizations to get involved in ISPD – showing appreciation for ski patrollers via social media activation, on-the-day activities or non-profit donations.

How to Participate

As a patroller, you know how important it is for the slopes to be open and safe for all. On ISPD, share your story to raise awareness and say thank you! Perhaps you have an interaction with a patroller to share, an anecdote about how hard your resort’s patrol team works or simply call your local patrol team with a short thank you and a high five.

Outside or on the slopes is ideal, and authentic and in the moment is best! Don’t forget to use #skipatrolday on your social media accounts.

Share the gratitude onsite:

  • Set up a ‘Praise for Patrollers’ (PFP) display at your resort to thank patrollers and engage the local community and resort-goers. Use our PFP framework to bring your activation to life – and make it authentic to your resort and community.
  • Offer coffee and cake or pizza and beers.
  • Set up an education booth or table highlighting who your patrollers are and the work they do for visitors.
  • Brand high-traffic areas onsite with ISPD communication materials to raise awareness.

Add ISPD to your event calendars:

  • Create a page or add the day to your existing event listings online with the date and description.
  • Let readers know when they can expect more information about your ISPD activities, such as onsite plans on the day.

Say “thanks” on social:

  • On your social channels use #skipatrolday when talking about ISPD in the lead-up to, and on the day.
  • Share a live, behind-the-scenes look at your resort or organization highlighting how you work with /support patrollers – show what activities you have onsite for the day or share short ‘interviews’ with passers-by sharing their messages of thanks to patrollers.
  • If you’re setting up a ‘Praise for Patrollers’ activation on the day, capture and share how it comes to life and the messages shared on the day.
  • Collate and share short submitted ‘thank you’ messages from your team to share on the day.
  • Encourage your followers to share their own message of thanks tagging you and #skipatrolday on the day.
