Executive Report
The Executive continues to plan for FIPS2016, coordinating with the Italian FISPS Organising Committee. A big thank you to our Italian friends Nadia, Marco and Luca for their efforts thus far. The Executive is already thinking forward to the hosting of the next FIPS Congress in 2018.
REMEMBER: As a patroller you must now be a SUBSCRIBER to the FIPS web site to receive future FIPS updates and access to the patroller-only areas with full reports on FIPS activities, access to the SIGs, up-coming events, etc. Follow the link at the FIPS-website and answer the necessary questions. Your registration should be approved within a few days. Help on registering is available here.
SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS: If you are interested in a SIG you must first register on the FIPS web site. Then, after being approved you must go back to website to join the SIG(s) of your choice. SIG Coordinators will then welcome you into their group.
Colorado Supreme Court “avalanches in resorts” determination
The Colorado Supreme Court will hear submissions on the avalanche issue in resorts on 29 September 2015. Due to the high public interest in this case the Court has elected to hold it in a nearby high school auditorium. The Court has already accepted a brief on the issue from FIPS. Once the Court makes a determination a summary of the outcome will be prepared for distribution to FIPS members.
