Marie let us know about the Institute of Mountain Emergency Medicine –thank you Marie!–; it was founded in 2009 and is a branch of EURAC-European Academy of Bolzano.
From the Institute’s presentation page, we understand that “Its main aim is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of casualties and acutely ill patients in mountainous regions by raising the standard of Alpine emergency medicine to an internationally recognised ‘evidence-based’ level.”.
In their agenda there is work shop scheduled in spring 2011 on mountain Emergency Medicine for Europe. At this moment on their website there is no mention of this meeting but we will keep you updated.
